Apple’s long rumored entrance into the TV set market took another major step forward with the company discussing content distribution with the major cable conglomerates. According to a report from QZ.com, Apple is trying to acquire a solid lineup of content before moving ahead and releasing the TV set. From QZ.com

"Apple is negotiating with production studios and networks to provide content for a television set that would emphasize apps over cable TV, according to people familiar with those discussions. Among the companies that have talked to Apple are Disney’s ESPN, Time Warner’s HBO, and Viacom, which owns MTV Networks, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central."

Apple already proved it can revolitionize distribution models with music and the iTunes store, and most analysts think it is only a matter of time before they work their magic on the world of televison.
