Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D on ABC at 8pm
Tonight is the premiere episode of what could be a game changer for ABC. The question is will the audience that flocks to movies like the Avengers and Iron Man show up each week? If they do, and I think they will, then we could be a year away from three to five Marvel based shows on TV.
NCIS & NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS at 8pm & 9pm
The two most popular shows on TV are back with all new episodes. There will tense shots of Mark Harmon and LL Cool J yelling for people to “Get Down”. NCIS is a perfect choice to go up against Shield because CBS’ older demo is well prepped to hate the superhero show. NCIS will still win the night in total ratings.
Chicago Fire on NBC at 10pm.
Season two of ER at a firehouse kicks off with an arsonist plot line. That seems like a solid choice for this show. Also scenes of firemen changing clothing in the locker room. Oh and fire. Lots of fire.
Person of Interest on CBS at 10pm
Michael Emerson will need all of his best tics and spasms as the third season of the solid procedural kicks off in a new time slot. Tonight finds the guys locating a member of the Navy during Fleet Week. Get those surveillance cameras cooking.
Lucky 7 on ABC at 10pm
This show about a group of lottery winners is poised to be ABC’s sacrificial lamb to the gods of TV. It faces tough competition and has little hype around it, so why don’t you tune in and save it from cancellation.
