Sibling rivalry is a well worn topic in sitcoms, but normally it involves young children. On tonight’s all new “The Millers” we get a dose of middle age added in for extra flavor and spice. Nathan Miller, played by Will Arnett, finds out tonight that his sister Debbie might have been his Dad’s favorite child, and it rekindles their old battles from childhood. What’s great about this topic is that everyone reverts back to fighting with their siblings at one point, and Debbie Miller seems to be pulling out all the stops tonight for victory.
When Nathan learns why Debbie is Tom’s favorite child instead of him, he decides it’s time to fill his parents in on some of Debbie’s childhood secrets.
Finding out that your sister is the favorite can’t be easy, but revealing childhood secrets will only make it worse. From the looks of the CBS promo for tonight’s episode it seems Debbie responds to Nathan revealing her secrets by throwing appliances at him of varying sizes. Dodging a toaster over might make you rethink spilling secrets.
With a Mom and Dad played by Margo Martindale and Beau Bridges, maybe Debbie’s secrets might play better than Nathan thinks. The point obviously is that no matter how old you get, how far away from home you live, we are all just a moment away from reverting to the way we were in adolescence. Just think how people act when they travel by plane, and you get a better understanding why so many people act like toddlers in the air.
