“The Millers” celebrate the Christmas holiday tonight by coming together and lying. That sounds just about right for Margo Martindale’s Carol Miller. Carol is one of the best new characters of the Fall, and tonight we find out that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Carol’s parents are coming to her house for Christmas, played by Jane Squibb and Jerry Van Dyke. Will Arnett’s Nate for once doesn’t have to worry about his own mother because the grandparents are coming to town. Oh did we mention that Carol’s parents don’t know she and Tom are separated either?
Check out the synopsis from CBS to get a better idea of the craziness in store on an all new episode of “The Millers”.
When Carol’s overbearing Mother and Father announce they are coming to visit for Christmas, Carol recruits Nate and Tom to cover up their failed relationships and present a happy facade. However, Nate begins to believe the lie, and considers getting back together with his ex, Janice.
Tonight the tables flip on Carol. Normally she is the one embarrassing Nate, but tonight she’s the one on the defensive with her parents visiting. Margo Martindale is great at being on the edge. Jerry Van Dyke as her equally crazed Dad is a perfect casting choice. The episode titled “Carol’s Parents are Coming to Town” is the holiday season for those of us who might not have the perfect “Christmas Story” family. Here’s the promo for tonight’s episode from CBS.
Save the warm and toasty Christmas stories for later in the month. Tonight enjoy “The Millers” version of the most wonderful time of the year.
