'Mike & Molly' Season 4, Episode 7: Preview, TV Info, & More

The fourth season of CBS’ “Mike & Molly” has gone out of its way to completely flip the script on the show’s main characters. The first shoe to drop was Molly leaving her job as a teacher to pursue a life as a writer. That gave Melissa McCarthy’s Molly a better opportunity to get into those zany situations that weren’t available to her as a school teacher. Tonight’s all new episode though deals with a big change in Mike’s life. According to the synopsis from CBS, tonight could be Mike’s last day as a police officer.

Mike decides he needs to live everyday like it’s his last after being shot during a robbery. As a result, he tells Carl it’s time for him to quit the police force.

A policeman getting shot in the line of duty is not a topic that every sitcom could tackle. The episode though it titled “The Shoot Asses, Don’t They?” so you get an idea of what area Mike is hit in by the bullet. Mike’s situation forces Molly to spend more time with her Mother-in-law, and that’s where the show is mining the laughs from. The promo for tonight’s episode features a stable Mike in the hospital, and a Mother who puts the fear of god into Molly.
