Every year the “Golden Globes” prove just how much better things are when there’s free booze. The mix of A-list talent, nervous nominees, and a live microphone makes the MTV Video Music Awards look like a meeting of the 4H club. The biggest winner of the night was Fox’s freshman comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, which took home the award for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical. Even more of a shock was Andy Sandberg winning Best Performance by an Actor in A Television Series – Comedy or Musical. This win is a huge push for a show that wasn’t a lock for a second season.

The drama side was a deep bow for the great work of “Breaking Bad” in its final season. The show won Best Television Series – Drama, and Bryan Cranston picked up the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in A Television Series – Drama. The win for Best Television Series – Drama also gave Aaron Paul one more time to give “Breaking Bad” fans what they really want to hear.

In case you had better things to do last night, like say “True Detective”, “The Good Wife”, “Girls”, or “Shameless”, here’s some of the best and worst moments from the 2014 Golden Globes.
