The music business might be dying a slow death, but events like the Grammy Awards remind us of the true power they can still muster. Unlike other awards shows, the host of the Grammys is of little importance. The choice of LL Cool J by CBS had more to do with his starring role on “NCIS:LA” than his actual hosting abilities. LL’s job is to get the powerhouse performers on stage, and then get out of the way. There isn’t room for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hilarity on this telecast.

This is a show that lives and dies on the live performances. With a possible on stage Beatles reunion rumored there was a definite buzz in the room. It felt like each star who made it onstage had to personally thank Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. In case you missed the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, here’s some of the best and worst moments from the show.
