There have been some big changes coming to ABC and today we found out what they were. Earlier this week it was announced that ABC had let Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet out of her contract and began looking for a replacement.
That replacement has been found as TheBigLead.com is reporting that ABC has hired sports sideline reporter Erin Andrews as the new co-host of Dancing with the Stars.
Erin Andrews, the Fox Sports sideline reporter, is going to be the new co-host of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, two sources tell The Big Lead. The network is expected to make the announcement Monday. An ABC spokesperson didn’t return a call Saturday evening seeking comment.
ABC announced Friday that Brooke Burke, who had been Tom Bergeron’s co-host on DWTS for the last seven seasons, would be leaving the show.
The announcement comes as a major surprise given the fact that Andrews was nowhere on anyones radar, but has landed one of the most coveted hosting gigs on television. But while it’s a surprising choice, it makes sense as Andrews is plugged in with her sports connections and more and more athletes are competing on the show.
Andrews won’t be leaving FOX Sports, as TheBigLead reports that she’ll remain in her normal sports hosting duties as well as working on Dancing with the Stars on the side.
