After spending a number of years off the air, NBC is digging into the superhero craze and is reviving the pioneering series Heroes for a 13-episode miniseries. Deadline is reporting that the network is brining the series back called Heroes: Reborn in 2015.
On the heels of Fox reviving its iconic drama 24 as an event miniseries, NBC is doing the same with one of its most popular serialized dramas of the past decade, superhero series Heroes. Creator Tim Kring is back shepherding the 13-episode new standalone arc entitled Heroes: Reborn, which will air in 2015.
This is news that fans of the series have been waiting for as the show seemed to fall off the face of the earth a few years ago and has been nothing but a distant memory.
It’s hard to not see the success of Arrow and the ambitiousness of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. having a strong impact on the decision for NBC to bring the series back. The network also has its own comic book show coming in the form of Constantine, so we will probably see some promotion for both shows in the coming months from NBC.
Heroes: Reborn will premiere on NBC in 2015.
