While it seems like the show has been on forever, Law & Order: SVU continues to net massive guest stars that keep the show running and keeps the lights on at Dick Wolf’s house. After word that Jimmy Fallon’s bandleader Questlove was going to guest star as a dead guy on Law & Order: SVU, Alec Baldwin and Katie Couric have been added as guest stars for an upcoming episode as well — albeit not as dead bodies.
According to Deadline, Baldwin will be playing a controversial newspaper columnist named Jimmy MacArthur, who becomes embroiled in a rape case he is covering in a scandalous manner.
Couric will not be stretching her acting talents much as she’ll be guest starring as a talk show host in the episode.
NBC made it official today that Baldwin will guest star as a controversial New York newspaper columnist, in an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU. Word of this guest gig got out earlier this month. … Katie Couric will play herself — a TV show show host, that is — who grills Baldwin, as controversial New York newspaper columnist Jimmy MacArthur about the headline grabbing hate crime/rape case.
The episode already seems like it’ll be another highly watched event for the show, which seems to be holding its own in NBC’s lineup as of late. The show won’t go on forever, but it apparently still has the power to draw huge names as guest stars.
NBC is slated to air the episode on Wednesday, March 19.
