After months of waiting around to set a premiere date in stone, NBC has announced that America’s Got Talent will be returning to the air in late May. The announcement of the premiere date has flown under the radar for the most part, but the show has been known to be returning for a ninth season and the network has now set a formal premiere date.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, America’s Got Talent will return to NBC on May 27th.
The show has regained a massive following thanks to the new judging panel the show implicated a few years ago. Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howard Stern have helped pump new life into the talent show and they’re one of the reasons the show is as popular as it is today.
Last season saw a slew of acts compete for the top prize of their own Las Vegas show, and the journey there was far more entertaining than many expected. This sets expectations even higher for the ninth season of the show, but all signs point to it being more popcorn summer fun for nights where there’s nothing else to do.
America’s Got Talent will begin auditioning around the country soon with the taped performances premiering on May 27th.
