This Saturday might be perceived as some to be an unofficial Brooklyn holiday of sorts. “Girls” creator Lena Dunham gets a chance to host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time in her career. Adding more hipster cred is musical guest The National. With the success of “Girls” it isn’t a surprise to see Dunham get a hosting slot on SNL.
Last week’s Jim Parson’s hosted show was a dud, but it was the same weekend as the Oscars. That show was too aware that no one would care about it. Dunham appears in her promos for SNL with Kate McKinnon. McKinnon has become a top player for the show in recent weeks. Her impersonations of Ellen DeGeneres and Justin Bieber were viral hits. She has the crazy side of Amy Poehler, and the celeb voices of Jimmy Fallon.
In the promo McKinnon reveals to Dunham that she’s not only fallen victim to a “Girls” theme park ride, but also tries to get her own role on the hit HBO comedy. Don’t miss Dunham’s outfit that features a pattern from a retirement home couch.
“Saturday Night Live” hosted by Lena Duham with musical guest The National kicks off Saturday, March 8th at 11:30 pm.
