The Oscars were this weekend and it was an interesting night for a ton of reasons. One of the lasting buts from the night saw host Ellen DeGeneres fully commit to a bit that saw her first ask the first few rows of nominated actors and actresses if they wanted pizza and then follow up on that by actually getting them pizza.

One of the memorable parts about it was the pizza delivery guy, who appeared to be real but very likely was an actor. Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron cleared the air and revealed that while they wanted to hire and actor, it was Ellen who insisted on making it real.

Per The Hollywood Reporter:

“When Ellen said she wanted to do it, we said we’d hire an actor, but she said, ‘No, no, no. You’re not hiring an actor. I want a real pizza delivery person,’ “ Zadan revealed. “We said that the FBI would have to do a background check. She said, ‘I don’t care. I want it to be real. I want this guy to walk in and not know he’s going to the Academy Awards.’
