A classic television show is now one step further to returning to the air. CBS is rebooting the iconic series The Odd Couple and have now found the second half of their dynamic duo in Reno 911 star Thomas Lennon. According to TVLine’s Michael Ausiello, CBS has cast Lennon in the role of Felic Unger, the neat freak roommate to the messy Oscar Madison.

Previous to the casting of Lennon, Friends star Matthew Perry had been cast in the role of Oscar.

Per TVLine.com:

CBS’ Odd Couple is complete!

Reno 911!‘s Thomas Lennon, last seen in NBC’s Sean Saves the World, has landed the role of Felix opposite Matthew Perry’s Oscar in CBS’ in-the-works sitcom reboot, TVLine has learned.

This is actually a bit of inspired casting, as both Lennon and Perry are very well known faces in television and could be a genius pairing for CBS. Perry has failed to really hammer home a hit show since Friends went off the air almost a decade ago and Lennon’s network television presence is next to none.

Still, the dup have been paired before for brief moments and putting them together in a reboot of a classic series may end up paying off. It’s blasphemous to even consider remaking The Odd Couple, but if it has to be done then Lennon and Perry may pull it off.
