NFL on FOX parts ways with announce Brian Billick

The NFL on Fox will be m ovine in a new direction this upcoming season with some changes coming to their announcing teams in the booth. Brian Billick, who won a Super Bowl as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens back in 2001 and has since made a name for himself as a color analyst on Fox broadasts, will have to now find something else to do on Sunday afternoons.

According to reports, Fox has let Billick go, choosing to not renew his contract as it expires this offseason.

Per The Big Lead:

A Fox Sports spokesman confirmed the news to The Big Lead Sunday afternoon. “We simply decided to move in a different direction. We appreciate all of Brian’s contributions over the years at Fox.”

The move doesn’t seem malicious in any way nor does it seem prompted by anything other than Fox wanting to change up arrangements in the booth. Of all their announcing teams, Billick always got respect from fans and it likely won’t take long for his part-time gig at NFL Network to become his new full-time job.
