The older sister of former Disney actress Hillary Duff, Haylie Duff (who had an acting career of her own), has made quite a name for herself in the culinary business.
So much in fact that the older Duff will be staring in her own Cooking Channel show later this Summer.
The series entitled ‘Real Girl’s Kitchen’ will run for ten episodes beginning in June according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The 10-episode season will debut in June, following a premiere on the web-based Ora.TV on April 9. Adds the digital outlet’s CEO Jon Housman: “We’re giving viewers an inside look at her kitchen, her favorite foods, and her life, which I think will have enormous appeal.”
The show will be loosely based off Duff’s popular blog-turned-book which saw Duff chronicle her trips to local Los Angeles culinary hotspots.
It’s difficult to tell if the show will succeed given the already saturated market. Of course, Duff does have the celebrity name behind herself (if you want to call it that) and the Cooking Channel is certainly in need of some well known names (in comparison to the Food Network), but it’s questionable if Duff will bring the needed/intended viewership.
We’ll find out in a few months.
