We’re now less than a week away from the annual MTV Movie Awards and until today, the network had been rather quiet about any special guests or performers who’d be gracing the stage come Sunday evening.
There was growing concern that MTV wouldn’t announce any big name performs which would put a serious dent into their potential ratings, but on Tuesday morning MTV dropped a pretty large bomb by announcing that Eminem and Rihanna would be performing their hit single ‘Monster’ together – the first time the duo has performed the hit song together.
Before Eminem and Rihanna hit the road for their Monster Tour this summer, the powerhouse duo will be bringing their hit to the 2014 MTV Movie Awards.
It was announced on Tuesday morning (April 8) that Em and Rih Rih will be gracing the stage this Sunday during the annual event. This will be their first performance of “The Monster,” the hit single from November’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2. It reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The 2014 MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by late night personality and comedian Conan O’Brien. Festivities begin at 9 p.m. ET this Sunday, April 13 from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater.
Teen Wolf actor Tyler Posey and pop singer Zendaya will host the pre-show which kicks off a half hour prior to the show.
When Eminem and Rihanna take the stage they hope to bring the house down for one of the most memorable performances at the MTV Movie Awards since Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg’s 2010 collaboration for “California Gurls.” Click here for Katy Perry tickets for her upcoming Prismatic World Tour slated to travel America later this year.
