Remember Zoom on PBS Kids? It was produced from 1999-2005 and was one of the best things I ever watched when I didn’t have access to cable as a young child. Apparently the folks at Saturday Night Live also remember Zoom.
On Sunday, the folks at SNL released a web exclusive entitled ‘Nickelodeon Show’ which was a truTV mockumentary about their made up Nickelodeon show ‘Zap!’. The concept was a combination of All That and the afore mentioned Zoom with the background being clear an ode to Zoom.
Before I explain more let’s check it out:
The truTV mockumentary finally reveals how the kids on these shows had so much energy, they were all fed speed. It explains so much and I wouldn’t be shocked if some of this was true. Maybe Kenan Thompson brought some All That experiences to the writing room? Maybe Amanda Bynes has been crazy all of this time?
The sketch was cut from this past weekend’s Anna Kendrick music fest on SNL. Appearing in the sketch is Kendrick, Thompson, Taran Killam and Nasim Pedrad as cast members of ‘Zap!’. Beck Bennett appeared as the host of the truTV mockumentary about the Nickelodeon show. Trust me, it’s not as confusing as that sounds.
