Stevie Nicks and 'Tom Petty' Perform on the Tonight Show

We know by now that Jimmy Fallon can imitate some of the best rock artists of all time and on Wednesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Fallon did it again. Fallon broke out a Tom Petty impression which is awesome on the surface, but it gets better.

One of Fallon’s guests on Wednesday was Stevie Nicks which Fallon took advantage of and performed a duet with her. Fallon/Petty and Nicks came together to do a real song that the real Tom Petty did with Stevie Nicks, ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around’.

Tom Petty wrote the song for Tom Petty and the Heatbreakers, but his producer at the time was also working with Nicks and arranged for her to sing it. ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around’ was Stevie Nicks’ first single from her first solo album and was released in 1981. The song reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100.

Also on the show on Wednesday: Jennifer Gardner talking about her new movie Draft Day which hits theatres on Friday, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselić talking about Nirvana’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and of course the amazing Stevie Nicks also did her own performance to close out the night.
