Jack Crawford has a really tough job. The lead FBI agent spent most of last week’s episode of Hannibal dealing with the horrific murder of Beverly Katz. If the Chesapeake Ripper slicing Beverly into scientific anatomy slides wasn’t enough for Jack, the episode ended on an even bigger surprise. Jack found Miriam Lass alive at the bottom of a deep well that brought to mind Buffalo Bill’s basement well in Silence of the Lambs. Will she be able to remember anything about her attacker?
Miriam Lass is the young FBI agent that Jack thought to have fallen victim to the Ripper. Viewers can’t fault Jack because the Ripper sent him Miriam’s arm and cellphone. The big news for fans of the show is the discovery of Miriam Lass leads to Will Graham being released from custody. Jack now has to deal with the headaches of Will, Miriam, and Hannibal. Here’s the description of tonight’s episode, titled Yakimono.
When Miriam Lass is found alive, evidence at her rescue site exonerates Will; Dr. Chilton (Raúl Esparza) tries to confide in Jack but is rebuffed.
The promo for the episode shows Will not wasting anytime in confronting Hannibal. Maybe the direct approach isn’t the best when dealing with Hannibal. Just as Beverly Katz about the merits of approaching him one on one. We know from the season premiere that we’re headed towards that brutal fight between Jack and Hannibal. Let’s assume Jack survives from what we know of the Hannibal mythology. Could season 3 of the show focus on Jack and Will hunting down a fugitive Hannibal?
Here’s the definition of tonight’s episode title Yakimono from Wikipedia.
