Watch out boys, there’s a new coach in town!
Reports have been swirling around the internet today that singer, songwriter Gwen Stefani has signed on to be a coach on the upcoming seventh season of The Voice.
If the reports are indeed true, Stefani will taking over coaching duties from original coach Christina Aguilera. Aguilera announced in February that she is pregnant with her second child, and she is reportedly taking a break from the series due to her pregnancy.
Just last month NBC announced that Pharrell Williams would be joining the series as the newest coach for season seven. Williams will be taking the seat previously occupied by coach Cee Lo Green, who announced his permanent exit from the show back in February.
Current coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are expected to return for season seven this fall, but no official announcement has been made. Currently, Williams is the only confirmed coach of season seven as NBC has not released official announcements on the status of Levine, Shelton or Stefani.
It would interesting to see what Stefani would bring to the show, and how she interacts with her fellow coaches. We also know Stefani has past experience mentoring contestants as Stefani has acted as a guest mentor on past seasons of Fox’s American Idol.
