First Lady Michelle Obama is one busy lady! Mrs. Obama is set to guest star on an upcoming episode of Disney Channel’s comedy series Jessie.
Mrs. Obama’s appearance on the show next month is part of the White House’s Joining Forces initiative. Her guest appearance slot will help raise awareness to the difficult sacrifices and needs of military families.
Jessie centers around Jessie (Debby Ryan) a nanny in New York and the children she cares for.
In the appropriately titled episode, “From the White House to Our House,” Zuri (Skai Jackson), with help from nanny Jessie, throws a party for her new friend Taylor. Taylor is a young girl whose mother is deployed overseas serving in the military.
When Taylor struggles with celebrating her birthday without her mother, Zuri enlists Mrs. Obama to help give Taylor the birthday she deserves.
Joining Forces was founded by the Mrs. Obama and Dr. Jill Biden back in 2011. The foundation’s goal is to assist servicemen and women, veterans and military spouses with the strains and difficulties military families face.
Mrs. Obama’s appearance on Jessie comes in a string of television guest spots that First Lady is set to make.
Mrs. Obama is set to play herself on the April 24, season finale of NBC’s Parks and Recreation. Shortly after that, Mrs. Obama will make her way to Nashville to join the cast as their characters organize a charity concert at Ft. Campbell on the series May 7 episode.
