Think it’s hard to be a Soviet spy during the cold war? Living a double life is extremely taxing on one’s happiness, but that’s why the good lord invented the Chevrolet Camaro. Last week Philip fell in love with the American muscle car, and ended up driving it off the lot. It is quite a flashy car for someone who is trying to stay below the radar, but it was a bit of payoff for all of the work Philip and Elizabeth do for the motherland.
There is little light at the end of the tunnel for the two of them. (Viewers on the other hand are full of hope after the show was renewed for a third season.) There’s no scenario where the couple returns to a ticker tape parade in Moscow. They know that this job in many ways is a one way ticket. That’s even more true after the murder of their close KGB friends. The Camaro was a great was to blow off some steam. It even made Stan jealous.
Philip and Elizabeth needed a pick me up after finding out the submarine plans they stole were fakes, and caused the deaths of over a hundred Soviet sailors. It was a blow to the couple. What were they really doing here in the states? What is their use if the Americans already know what espionage they are up to?
Tonight’s episode, titled Martial Eagle, finds the couple in even more danger. Here’s the synopsis of tonight’s all new episode from FX.
Philip and Elizabeth’s long-planned mission turns ugly, impacting each of them in different ways. Stan digs in deeper at work as his personal life continues to unravel.
From the promo we see Philip up to his ears in trouble when he’s spotted snooping around a US military exercise.
