Hannibal spent most of season 2 with the FBI trying to prove that Will Graham was the Chesapeake Ripper. Now that Will has been exonerated by the Ripper’s continued killings, the FBI’s focus moves back to the killer of the week format we’re all familiar with. Last week Will, Jack, and Hannibal tried to figure out a killer who sewed his victims inside of horses. Doesn’t that guy realize how expensive stable fees are? Will now has to monitor Hannibal, but focus on catching other bad guys.
Will returned to therapy with Hannibal because he wants to unmask the Chesapeake Ripper on his own terms. There is no chance of Jack believing Hannibal is a killer without evidence, especially when Miriam Lass pointed the finger at Dr. Chilton. Will needs definitive proof of Hannibal’s guilt, and he can only do get that one on one. Tonight’s episode, titled Shiizakana, features a murder victim that appears to be a result of a wild animal attack. Will and Hannibal are tasked to create a profile for the killer, but as usual both men are playing each other.
Here’s a synopsis of the episode from NBC.
