This afternoon, MTV announced their summer schedule full of stars. The announcement took place at the network’s annual upfront presentation, and includes the return of hit series Teen Wolf as well as a new documentary series that will follow the life of international superstar Ed Sheeran.
Here is the complete run through of the announced schedule as a brief synopsis of the new, and returning, series.
Tuesday, June 1:
10/9c – 9 Days and Nights of Ed Sheeran. In this new documentary series, MTV will follow the singer, song-writer as a “young adult at a critical junction in his life.”
Monday, June 23:
10/9c – Teen Wolf. MTV’s breakout series returns tonight, with the show’s season five premiere. Season five of the supernatural drama will see Scott (Tyler Posey) and his pack battle a new enemy, the Benefactor.
Tuesday, July 8:
10/9c – Series premiere of new drama Finding Carter. Finding Carter tells the story of a girl who “learns that she was abducted as a toddler and that her mother isn’t who she claims to be.”
Thursday, July 10:
10/9c – Ridiculousness, hosted by Rob Dyrdek, returns for it’s season five premiere.
10:30/9:30c – Snack-Off. This new MTV competition series will “force amateur chefs to craft masterful munchies” for a panel of judges including super model Chrissy Teigan.
MTV also announced the renewal of series Snooki & JWOWW, The Real World, and Girl Code and three new series (Slednecks, One Bad Choice, and Beyond Dance) that’s premiere dates are still to be announced.
Slednecks is a half-hour docu-series that will follow a group of Alaskan friends (think Buckwild format). One Bad Choice will focus on various young people who “made one wrong move that changes their lives forever.” Each new episode will feature a new mistake, re-told through scripted scenes (in similar format to series such as I Almost Got Away It or Untold Stories of the ER). Finally, Beyond Dance is described a “new dance competition show which forces dancers into ‘extreme’ scenarios.”
