NBC’s The Blacklist spent most of its 1st season promising each week’s bad guy to be even deadlier than the last. It was an effective tool early on, but now 20 episodes deep in the season that claim is getting old. We know that the show started out revolving around tracking down criminals off the list, but isn’t the craziness going on between Lizzy and her husband Tom interesting enough?
Last week Lizzy and Tom finally had their long awaited showdown. Tom claimed to be protecting her, and said Red was the real person to watch. He pointed Lizzy to a safety deposit box, which was full of pictures we never got to see. Could Lizzy be holding family snapshots of her and Red? Or could Red and her real father be pictured together? Either way a big piece of her family life appears to be revealed. However the show will do its best to avoid giving viewers too much plot info by dealing with this week’s bad guy.
The episode is titled The Kingmaker, and here is the synopsis from NBC.
Red thinks the Kingmaker (Linus Roache), a strategist, is responsible when a politician in Prague is framed for murder; Liz uncovers a secret Red has been hiding.
The promo claims the Kingmaker is on of the most feared blacklisters of all. That’s a tall bill with what we’ve seen this season.
