Dancing with the Stars has found it’s replacement for exiting showrunner Conrad Green. ABC and BBC Worldwide Productions announced that veteran reality producer Rob Wade will be taking over as Dancing with the Stars showrunner for the anticipated 19th season of the reality series.
Wade will be stepping in as Green exits the series to join Fox’s Utopia as an executive producer. Wade worked as a producer on Dancing with the Stars during it’s first four seasons, and went on to serve as co-executive producer on the series from it’s fifth to eleventh season.
After exiting Dancing with the Stars, Wade, a former head of Syco Entertainment North America, acted as the executive producer for Fox’s The X-Factor and for NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
With his past experience on the show, Wade is a perfect fit to take the reigns as the series’ showrunner next season and Wade is already looking to his return to the ballroom:
I am delighted to be rejoining the show and one of the strongest teams on network television,” said Wade. “Dancing With the Stars is in great shape and I look forward to getting back in the ballroom and working with [executive producers] Joe [Sungkur] and Ashley [Edens-Shaffer] to take it to the next level.”
While Dancing with the Stars has not yet been renewed for the 2014-15 season, a renewal for the series is almost certain.
The current season of Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
