This summer, Switched at Birth will feature a “super” sized special guest! TV Guide is reporting that Super Bowl champion Derrick Coleman will be making a cameo on an upcoming episode of the ABC Family drama Switched at Birth.
Coleman is part of the Super Bowl 48 winning Seattle Seahawks, where he plays in the fullback position. What many do not realize is that Coleman is the first deaf offensive player to play in the National Football League.
Coleman will be appearing in the June 30 episode when the series resumes its third season this June. Coleman will appear in a scene with characters Travis (Ryan Lane), who is deaf, and Mary Beth (B.K. Cannon) who plays Travis’ hearing girlfriend.
This will be Coleman’s first cameo on a serialized show.
Switched at Birth stars Katie LeClerc and Vanessa Marano as Daphne and Bay, two teens who have their lives turned upside down when they learn that they were accidentally switched at birth.
The series also stars Sean Berdy, Lucas Grabeel, Constance Marie, D.W. Moffett, Lea Thompson and Giles Marini.
Switched at Birth returns with new episodes Monday, June 16 at 8/7c on ABC Family.
