The 10th season of Discovery’s Deadliest Catch has brought nothing but bad luck to the crab fisherman of the Bering Sea. First the fleet’s crab season was cut short due to the government shutdown. Without the federal government around there was no way to regulate the fishing season. Then once the boats were finally given the greenlight to begin pulling pods a ruthless winter storm caused havoc for the fleet. It’s never a good sign if a storm is so bad that the men have to stop fishing.
With a shortened season and rough weather there is even more pressure on the captains of the boats to pull full pods up over the side. However another severe storm is on the horizon which means rough days for the crew, and great video for the show. Here is the description of tonight’s episode, titled Darwin’s Law, from Discovery Channel.
After a storm shuts down the fleet, an even more severe weather system hits them again. While the captains do their best to stay the course, greenhorn problems, mechanical malfunctions and bad fishing conspire to shake their resolve.
The storm not only causes downtime, but a restless crew. On the Northwestern they deal with the delay by breaking out the heavy firearms. Deck Boss Edgar challenges Norm to a friendly shootout on the deck in this episode preview.
