We’re only eight days into May Sweeps and things are not looking good for many struggling series. Wednesday night, a whopping nine series hit, or matched, all time series lows. The only network to see any gain in total viewers or the demo was CBS.
Here is the full breakdown of Wednesday night’s ratings:
ABC: Starting off a rough night for ABC, The Middle (6.3 mil/1.5) was lost 15 percent of its total viewers and 16 percent to a series low in the demo. Suburgatory (4.7 mil/1.2) also was down by 15 and 20 percent, a series low in the demo. Modern Family (8.1 mil/2.8) and Nashville (4.5 mil/1.2) both matched last week’s lows and freshman series Mixology (3.7 mil/1.3) was just plain flat.
CBS: Survivor ( 9.8 mil/2.4) and Part 1 of the two part Criminal Minds‘ season finale (10.4 mil/2.3) each managed to rise in total viewers as well as gaining a tenth in the demo. CSI‘s season finale (and Paul Guilfoyle’s final appearance on the series) (9.9 mil/1.9) gained two tenths in the demo.
FOX: American Idol (7.8 mil/1.7) fell 11 percent in total viewers and two tenths in the demo, hitting an all-time low for the series’ Wednesday night episode.
NBC: Revolution (3.8 mil/1.1) fell 12 percent and two tenths, a series low. While Law & Order: SVU (5.3 mil/1.4) slipped 15 and 22 percent and Chicago PD (5.4 mil/1.4) fell 26 and 26 percent, both tying series lows.
THE CW: Arrow (2.25 mil/0.7) joined the list of down shows for the evening, tying a series low. While The 100 (1.7 mil/0.6) was even with last week.
