Ratings: Billboard Music Awards Hits 13 Year High

ABC’s broadcast of the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, managed to bring in a whopping 10.5 million total viewers!

The 2014 awards were up eleven precent from last year’s broadcast and brought the awards a 13-year rating high. The broadcast also managed to score a 3.5 in the the 18-49 demo, matching 2013’s 11 year demo high.

Here is how the other networks faired Sunday night:

CBS: CBS’ night of finales faired well against ABC’s Billboard Music Awards. Starting the night off  The Amazing Race (8.2 mil/1.7) managed to perform well in total viewers and the demo, steady with last week. The Good Wife (9 mil/1.2) also managed to remain steady in both categories. Closing the night, The Mentalist finale (9.7 mil/1.5) roses 13 and 16 percent in the week-to-week tallies. The only sour note for CBS’ Sunday line-up, is that this year’s finales were down slightly from last year’s closers.

Fox: Fox’s Family Guy opened the night on a low note (3.9 mil/2.0) as it shed a tenth. However, Fox rebounded as Bob’s Burgers, American Dad, The Simpsons and Cosmos all held steady in the week-to-week tallies.

NBC: Coldplay: Ghost Stories opened NBC’s night with a disappointing 1.7 million total viewers and a 0.4 in the demo. American Dream Builders fell to a  season low of 1.8 mil/0.4. Closing the night, Women of Saturday Night Live special encore brought in 2.5 mil/0.8.
