Not even a night of Magic Mike inspired routines could keep ABC’s The Bachelorette from slipping in ratings.
Monday’s all new The Bachelorette managed to draw a mere 5.7 million total viewers and a 1.4 in the demo, as the dating series moved into it’s summer time-slot at 8/7c. Without its Dancing with the Stars lead-in, the series shed 20 percent of its total viewers and fell 30 percent in the demo rating. The night’s new outing was also down from last year’s post DWTS episode which managed to bring in 6 million total viewers and pull a 1.9 in the demo.
Here’s how the other networks faired:
CBS: In CBS’ only new outing of the night, Friends with Better Lives shed 13 percent of its demo (1.4).
Fox: MasterChef‘s season premiere brought in 4.1 million total viewers and a 1.4 in the demo, down from its previous season opener (5.3 mil/2.1) and last season’s finale (6.3/2.4). Ending the night for Fox, 24: Live Another Day (5.7 mil/1.5) remained steady in audience, but lost two tenths in the demo.
NBC: NBC opened the night with an American Ninja Warrior one-hour recap special with 3 million total viewers tuning in and earned a 0.9 in the demo. American Ninja Warrior‘s season premiere followed the special down from it’s previous season opener, only capturing 4.7 million total viewers and a 1.5 in the demo.
The CW: In honor of Memorial Day, The CW’s thematic outing of Memorial Day managed to garner a 0.3 in the demo rating.
