The 68th Annual Tony Awards are right around the corner and CBS has announced the short list of this year’s performers. Among those set to perform are Alan Cumming, Suton Foster, Neil Patrick Harris, Idina Menzel, and Sting. It was also announce that Rosie O’Donnell will also make a special appearance to accept an honorary award.
Cumming, whose Tony Awards history includes a win for his performance in Cabaret back in 1998, will perform a song from the Cabaret revival that is currently on Broadway. While Sting is set to offer a preview number from his upcoming musical The Last Ship.
Harris, who is nominated for Best Actor in a Musical, will perform as part of the cast number for Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Lead Actress in a Musical nominees Foster and Menzel will perform numbers from Violet and If/Then, respectively.
The night will also feature full cast performances from Aladdin, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Rocky. The night will also feature a special performance from the cast of Wicked in honor of the musical’s 10th anniversary.
As we previously reported, the night will feature a slew of celebrities appearing as presenters including: Clint Eastwood, Will Ferrell, Bradley Cooper, Tony Goldwyn, Kevin Bacon, Matt Bomer, Wayne Brady, Zach Braff, Kenneth Branagh, Patricia Clarkson, Fran Drescher, Emilio Estefan, Gloria Estefan, Vera Farmiga, Anna Gunn, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ethan Hawke, Carole King, Zachary Levi, Lucy Liu, Kate Mara, Audra McDonald, Leighton Meester, Alessandro Nivola, Zachary Quinto, Emmy Rossum and Liev Schreiber.
The 68th Annual Tony Awards, hosted by Hugh Jackman, air Sunday, June 8 at 8/7c on CBS.
