Homeland adds House of Cards Star Corey Stoll for Season 4

We are getting a better idea of what to expect from a post-Brody Homeland thanks to recent casting news for season 4. EW.com is reporting that two new actors are now officially on board for season 4. One of them is House of Cards alum Corey Stoll.

Corey Stoll — who earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role on House of Cards and whose credits include The Normal Heart and Midnight in Paris — will guest-star as Sandy Bachman, the CIA chief of station in Pakistan who’s a rising star within the agency. The number of episodes Stoll will appear in is being kept under wraps.

With Brody gone from the show, Carrie is going to need someone new to have bizarre chemistry with. Stoll feels like a perfect replacement on paper.

In addition, Laila Robins will join the cast as a series regular in the role of Martha Boyd, U.S. ambassador to Pakistan.

We know that the 4th season will center around Carrie’s new job running the Middle East for the CIA, but now we get a better idea of the people she’s pushing up against this time. Carrie works best when she runs into disagreement with her team. No one goes rogue better than Claire Danes. It will be interesting to see how Stoll and Robins help develop the new identity of Homeland.
