The Hub Bringing ‘Blossom’ Back to the Small Screen

Whoa!

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that The Hub Network has announced that it has acquired the rights from Disney-ABC Television Group to popular 90s sitcom Blossom.

Mayim Bialik and Joey Lawrence starred in the series which  was a coming of age comedy about a precocious girl, her quirky best friend and her family.

According to the report, The Hub has acquired the complete series (all five seasons – 113 episodes), which will begin airing this summer starting on July 7. Blossom will join the network’s nightly line-up with episodes airing weekdays at 7/6c and 10/9c.

When the series returns this July, it will mark the series’ first time on air in fifteen years. Fans of the series were treated to a mini Blossom reunion two years ago when Bialik and Lawrence came together for an Old Navy ad campaign.

Blossom, which ran on NBC from 1991-95, was the launching ground for both Bialik and Lawrence’s careers. Bialik currently stars in CBS’ highest rated comedy series The Big Bang Theory, while Lawrence co-stars in ABC Family’s top-rated original comedy series Melissa & Joey.

Blossom will join a growing line-up of syndicated 90s hits including Alf, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Sister Sister.

Make sure to check out Blossom weekdays on The Hub starting July 7 at 7/6c.
