Ratings: 'America's Got Talent' Slips in Demo, 'Night Shift' Steady

NBC’s latest outing of talent competition series America’s Got Talent managed to average 11.5 million total viewers, while pulling a 2.6 in the demo ratings. Tuesday’s new episode managed to add a few viewers, but the series fell 7 percent in the demo in its first week up against ABC’s coverage of the NBA Finals.

Closing the night for NBC, freshman drama The Night Shift attracted 6.9 million total viewers and earn a 1.5 in the demo. Despite heavy competition over at ABC, the freshman medical series managed to bring in a few new viewers and remain steady in the demo.

Here is how the night’s other new outings performed:

ABC: ABC’s coverage of the NBA Finals Game 3 on Tuesday easily attracted the night’s largest audience. Game 3 averaged 12 million total viewers and a 4.9 in the demo rating (those numbers are expected to increase as new data comes in). Tuesday’s Game 3 broadcast was right on par with Sunday’s Game 2 (12.6 mil/5.0).

Fox: In a disappointing night for Fox, a new episode of comedy series Riot only managed to attract 1.2 million total viewers, while earning a 0.4 in the demo. Following Riot, an all new I Wanna Marry Harry averaged 1 million total viewers and a 0.4 in the demo. The only positive note for Fox, both series were steady in week-to-week demo measures.

The CW: Famous in 12 (740,000/0.3) saw a 21 percent increase in total viewers and managed to rise one tenth in the demo from last week’s series premiere.
