TVLine reports that Game of Thrones vet Gethin Anthony has been tapped to portray Mason in NBC’s upcoming Charles Manson themed event series Aquarius.
Aquarius, a 1960s set drama, will center around Hodiak, a cop who goes undercover to track Manson and his brood.
Anthony will portray Manson who is described as “the archetypal Authentic Hippie Freak whose intense charisma draws young followers to him in droves.” As a “jailbird” who has spent over half of his life in prison, Manson rules over his droves of young women followers through sex, drugs, and a “paternalistic and caring” attitude, which masks the evil within him.
Also joining the event series are Grey Damon (Friday Night Lights) and Emma Dumont (Bunheads).
Dumont will portray Emma Karn, a young woman Manson recruits and whose father he may or may not have “embroiled” in a conspiracy.
Damon will join the series in a co-starring role as Hodiak’s (David Duchovny,Californication) newest partner, who goes undercover to help locate the missing Emma Karn and learn more about Manson.
Aquarius, written by John McNamara (In Plain Sight), will be executive produced by Duchovny, Melanie Greene (Californication), and Marty Adelstein (Last Man Standing).
