Disney XD has ordered Pants on Fire a new television movie that will focus on a young teen, whose life is turned upside when every lie he’s ever told becomes the truth.
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Pants on Fire will center on the life of 15 year old Jack Parker (Bradley Steven Perry, Mighty Med) who has gotten by in life with his elaborate lies; Jack’s best friend Ryan (Joshua Ballard, Diary of a Wimpy Kid); and Jack’s made-up friend Mikey (Tyrel Jackson Williams, Lab Rats), who he claims to be tutoring whenever he needs an excuse for his tardiness or a reason not to do his homework and chores. Jack’s life is turned upside down when Mikey suddenly shows up for real, as does every single lie Jack has ever told.
Pants on Fire will be co-produced by MarVista Entertainment and Two 4 the Money Media, who began principal photography on the movie on Monday. President of Two 4 the Money Media Kim Arnott notes that the company is looking forward to continuing their relationship with Disney and believes Pants on Fire is the perfect project to extend the relationship:
“It’s a great honor to extend our relationship with the Disney family to produce Pants on Fire for Disney XD. Our partnership with MarVista is invaluable to the process, both from a creative and financial perspective, and we are truly delighted to collaborate again with them on this new movie.”
Added Fernando Szew, CEO of MarVista:
“We received incredible global demand for Radio Rebel, and our previous Disney Channel co-production, 16 Wishes, and we are confident that in working with Disney XD, Pants on Fire will deliver a comedic movie for tweens and teens with a unique boy-attitude spin.”
Pants on Fire will debut on Disney XD this fall.
