Grande becomes the first confirmed performer for this year’s ceremony which will take place at Inglewood, California’s newly renovated The Forum.
Grande is set to debut her newest single, “Break Free,” off of her sophomore album, My Everything, which will be released Monday, August 25 (one day after the Video Music Awards).
Grande is “excited” to perform her newest single (which was produced by Zedd) for fans in her Video Music Awards debut performance:
“I’m so excited to perform ‘Break Free’ at the 2014 [Video Music Awards]. I can’t wait for my loves to see what we’ve been working on.”
Hamish Hamilton is set to direct the 2014 Video Music Awards ceremony with Amy Doyle, Garrett English, Jesse Ignjatovic, Dave Sirulnick set to serve as executive producers. Joanna Bomberg, Jen Jones and Lee Lodge are set to co-executive produce.
The 2014 Video Music Awards will air Sunday, August 24 on MTV.
