Fans of NBC’s America’s Got Talent can be forgiven for forgetting about the show the last few weeks. NBC has taken an interesting strategy in airing numerous repeats of the audition process. So many repeats that it almost felt like the show had stalled in neutral. How many times can viewers watch the same acrobatic audition without changing the channel? Even lead judge Howard Stern lamented the show’s reliance on repeats on his Sirius radio show. Howard’s own mother complained to him about the lack of new AGT programming.
Well the good news for Howard’s mom and the rest of us is that the show is all new tonight with Judgement Week. The all important Judgement Week episode decides which acts make it to the live shows in Radio City Music Hall. Check out the extended preview from NBC of tonight’s two hour episode.
The show now needs to reintroduce the audience to the competitors we haven’t seen in almost a month. That’s a lifetime in today’s TV landscape. At least we get to watch the four judges bicker about their choices for the live shows. That’s always a fun moment because it pits each of the judges against one another. It lays bare the feuds between the judges that were bubbling below the surface of the show.
