Shemar Moore Returning to 'The Young and the Restless'

Shemar Moore is making his way back to Genoa City.

The Criminal Minds star is set to return to his daytime roots to reprise his role as Malcolm Winters on CBS’ The Young and the Restless, CBS announced on Wednesday.

Moore first joined The Young and the Restless in 1994 as Malcolm Smith, a dashing ladies man and fan favorite character. Moore’s portrayal of Malcolm from 1994-2002 landed the actor  a Daytime Emmy in 2000 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series. After a brief period away from the series, Moore would return for a brief stint on the show from 2004-2005 before exiting the series for his role on CBS’ Criminal Minds.

Like many fans, Moore is looking forward to returning to his daytime roots for his special guest appearance:

“I am excited about returning to The Young and the Restless as a special guest. This is where I got my start, and I am looking forward to reuniting with my soap opera family.”

When Moore’s Malcolm returns this September, he will visit the Winters family in hopes of making amends for his exit. Malcolm will also look to catch up on the current events in Genoa City as he catches up on what’s happened since his exit.

Make sure to catch Moore Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11 on The Young and the Restless.

Are you happy to see Moore return to The Young and the Restless for a special guest appearance?
