Ratings: NFL Hall of Fame Game Leads NBC to Victory

NBC’s coverage of the annual NFL Hall of Fame preseason game on Sunday led the network to yet another ratings victory. 7.6 million viewers tuned in to see the New York Giants take on the Buffalo Bills. Sunday’s coverage of the game also claimed the night’s highest demo rating earning a 2.5 in the adults 18-49 age demo.

Here is how the night’s other new outings faired:

ABC: Over on ABC, a Bachelor / Bachelorette themed Wipeout pulled in 3.7 million total viewers and a 0.9 in the demo, rising slightly in total viewers while also ticking up a tenth in the demo. Closing out the night, an all new Rising Star was flat pulling in a mere 3.5 million total viewers and a 0.9 in the demo.

CBS: Up against NBC’s NFL coverage, CBS’ Sunday outings all took a bit of a hit. Starting the night off, an all new Big Brother averaged 6.7 million total viewers while pulling a 1.9 in the demo. While Sunday’s Big Brother managed to add a few new viewers, the nominations/Battle of the Block episode fell 14 percent in the demo. Leading out of Big Brother new episodes of both Unforgettable (5.8 mil/0.9) and Reckless (4.4 mil/0.6) both fell flat.
