KISS has never been afraid of slapping their brand onto anything that they think will sell. One of their more ludicrous items was the KISS coffin that could also double as a beverage cooler. According to founding members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley there was no better way to meet the afterlife than in a coffin covered with KISS decals. The entrepreneurial spirit of the band is on full display in the new AMC reality show 4th and Loud which premieres tonight at 9pm. The show follows the behind-the-scenes action of the LA KISS, a new arena football team owned by the band. Think of the show as a dirtier version of HBO’s Hard Knocks franchise.
The show will feature different players trying to make the team, and the marketing prowess of Gene, Paul, and their team in their quest to make the LA KISS the biggest sports show in town. KISS doesn’t do anything small, and this show is another example of how over the top make up and sky high boots can elevate rock n’ roll to super hero status. Check out a preview for show below.
4th and Loud takes viewers behind-the-scenes of the LA KISS Arena Football team’s inaugural season with owners Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS fame, along with additional owners, long-time KISS manager, Doc McGhee, managing partner/owner, Brett Bouchy, and president/owner, Schuyler Hoversten, as they and the dedicated players and coaches work to give arena football a rock and roll makeover and turn LA’s first professional football team in years into a winning franchise.
