The country starlet is set to appear as the universal adviser this fall on The Voice‘s sixth season.
Swift will appear on the show to help advise the season six coaches – Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams – as they weave their way through this season’s second round of battles: the Battles. Round two in the competition pits two random contestants from the same coach’s team against each other in a sudden-death duet duel.
The universal adviser is rather new to the series, it was just last season that NBC introduced the role in its retooled battle round (season five featured Coldplay’s Chris Martin in the universal adviser role).
Season six of The Voice will feature a slew of star-studded newcomers. In addition to two new coaches in Stefani and Williams, season six will welcome guest mentors Alicia Keys as Williams’ mentor; Little Big Town as Shelton’s mentor; Stevie Nicks as Levine’s mentor; and Gavin Rossdale as Stefani’s mentor. Keys, Little Big Town, Nicks, and Rossdale will all appear this season to help their coach’s team rehearse for their first round of battles.
The Voice returns for its sixth season, Monday September 22 on NBC.
