When headed into deadly situations it is important to make sure that you can trust the people around you. For most people there is no group more trustworthy than family. Working under the ice of the Bering Sea allows for zero mistakes, and most of us would feel comforted to know our brother or dad was by our side. However tonight’s all new episode of Bering Sea Gold, titled Under the Ice: Gold From the Deep, challenges the idea that family is always best.

The Kelly family, father Brad and his sons Kris and Andy, run The Reaper dredge, but it is obvious that they’re dynamic is far from The Waltons. Brad has reached an age where he expects to reap proceeds from gold that he deserves, no matter the level of work he puts in. That obviously rubs his sons the wrong way. In this preview clip from tonight’s all new episode Brad is clear that he doesn’t care who he steps on nowadays to make his money.

In an obvious attempt to get his cut of the daily diver haul Brad jumps into the water for less than ten minutes, and manages to pull up little to no rock from his work. While Kris and Andy fume about their father’s obvious play for more of their share, Brad announces he has a migraine and has to surface. Brad doesn’t care if his sons are upset over his obvious ploy. Adding insult to injury is how quickly Brad departs The Reaper to attend to other business once he’s up out of the water.

So you say you want to work in the Bering Sea with your family? Well check out this video below first, and check out the aftermath of Brad’s actions tonight on Bering Sea Gold.

In Nome, Alaska, the dangers of working under the ice are starting to become glaringly apparent to the fleet’s greenhorns and veterans. Zeke and Glen move to an area of deep sea and become concerned with nitrogen poisoning. On the Shamrock, Cody Moen gets a little too big for his britches.
