Guest stars come and go, but Candy Andy is forever. Ryan Hansen returns to 2 Broke Girls as Caroline’s star-crossed ex-boyfriend. During his last appearance, Candy Andy’s marriage threw Caroline into anxiety overdrive, and now his latest appearance does the same. His marriage has fizzled, and he wants to give love with Caroline another chance. There’s one problem and his name is Bobby.

2 Broke Girls doesn’t concern itself with endgame romances as much as other sitcoms. But as endgame romances go, we all should have bet money on Caroline and Candy Andy. In another life, their timing would be right, and they would be able to revel in being perfect for each other. However, despite attending the press junket for the film based on her life, Caroline’s life isn’t like the movies. She’s fallen in love with Bobby, and this could be the endgame romance she never expected. Letting Candy Andy go shatters our candy hearts into a million candy pieces, but we mustn’t harp on our sweet tooth no matter how cute they are together. Now, let’s break down the latest episode with its five richest one-liners.

1. “I thought it went to the wrong person… like my twenties.”

Max and Caroline work out in their apartment using gym equipment Max found while dumpster diving at Equinox. But Caroline finds something even more surprising in the month-old mail Sophie hands her: An invite to the press junket for the movie based on her life. Intrigue!

2. “I lost my baby teeth in the Octagon with Ronda Rousey.”

Caroline does a once-over of the cast list and discovers that her Very Important Ex-Boyfriend Candy Andy will be in attendance since he will be a character in the movie. To her concurrent pleasure and displeasure, Bobby isn’t jealous. But she’s thrown through a loop when she learns that the actors playing her and Andy fell in love off-screen.

3. “No chance of that unless they start making Viagra for your whole body.”

Bobby turns to the diner gang for the inside scoop on Candy Andy. Han brushes off his worries, but it’s unconvincing. Earth to Bobby! Candy Andy is the ex that you worry about. He’s THE ex. Sophie shows Bobby pictures of Caroline and Andy from the press junket, and the jealousy he said he didn’t feel finally sets in.

4. “Then I feel worse for American than I already do.”

Even though Caroline wanted to use the press junket as a marketing ploy for the dessert bar, Andy’s divorce news combined with his admission of feelings distracts her from the one question that comes up about her business. She thinks America wants her and Andy together because of the movie, but Max isn’t so sure.

5. “Guys, don’t fight  over me… until I have the camera open on my phone.”

Letting jealousy take the wheel, Bobby rushes into the press junket (which seems unlikely without a press pass, but we’ll allow it) and attacks the wrong Andy. For some reason, Caroline appreciates his jealousy and it reassures her that she should be with him and not Andy. But Candy Andy doesn’t go down without out a fight. He milks every second he can out of Max’s cast after party, dropping unsubtle hints that he’s rich from a Six Flags incident and has a helicopter. But she’s sticking with Bobby… for now.
