The cast of ‘Supernatural’ travels throughout the world doing conventions that get them up close and personal with fans. The latest convention, All Hell Breaks Loose (also known as AHBL), showcased something fans have never seen before Jared Padalecki playing guitar as the cast.

AHBL 8 happened this past weekend in celebration of the entire Supernatural cast in Melbourne, Australia. The event is run like a typical convention featuring panels, collectables, vendors, raffles, and photos and autographs with the stars.

This year, the convention had a slew of celebrities from the show including: Matt Cohen, Richard Speight Jr, The Hillywood Show, Emily Swallow, Rob Benedict, Amy Gumenick, Jason Manns, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and the Louden Swain band.

The convention seemed to be going according to plan with fans having a great time meeting the cast and hearing behind the scenes stories. They even had a Q&A with panel guests. However, a video of an acoustic version of “Free Fallin'”  was the thing that had everyone talking.

Now, if you have been to a convention you would know it’s not abnormal for Louden Swain (the house band) to play some tunes and have Benedict belt out some of their own original songs.

Every now and then Ackles will get in on the fun and come out to sing one or two covers as well.

However, one person has always been missing from the fun: Padalecki. He has shown up in the past, danced, and even sang a bit along with some of his co-stars, but at this year’s AHBL 8 he really shined by sitting on an intimate stage playing the guitar, along with Louden Swain’s Billy Moran, to the tune of “Free Fallin’.” What made it even better was the fact that both Ackles and Benedict (along with the crowd) participated.
