Melissa McBride Comments on ‘The Walking Dead’s S6 ‘Dark’ Finale

Major hype surrounds every single ‘The Walking Dead’ season premiere and finale, that’s nothing new. But as most fans know (especially those who follow the comics), Season Six’s closer is going to be huge!

A main character is set to die, maybe even two. Our hearts might not be able to handle it. The cast and crew have teased their thoughts on The Walking Dead‘s highly anticipated finale, and none of their reactions have been positive. Then again, of course they’re going to hype it up.

The latest to comment on the Season Six finale is Melissa McBride, who portrays Carol in the series. The star spoke with ComicBook.com recently and told the source that the finale left her speechless!

“It was so very dark. I couldn’t say anything after I had finished reading it. I felt like I had dropped into a blackhole.”

Gulp! Be afraid. Be very afraid.

The season has been hinting a few deaths, heavily focusing on Abraham’s downward spiral, Daryl (he’s been rumored to die since the series started, though), and now Carol, with her sudden change of heart.

Notice that all the attention on Glenn has taken a back seat. If you ask me, that’s because The Walking Dead probably wants to “surprise” us with his death. It’s really not much of a surprise if you follow the comics, though. Comic book spoiler alert! Glenn is the one that gets Lucilled by Negan. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still going to be sad to watch, no matter how prepared we are.

I love Glenn, but he’s got to be the one to die! AMC’s The Walking Dead can’t steer TOO far from the comics. Glenn’s famous comic book death is a huge event the series can’t (or shouldn’t) change. Whether Glenn dies or not, I have a feeling he won’t be the only character we are forced to say goodbye to!

What are your finale theories?

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC. Be sure to tune in!
