Rio 2016: What Solo Events will Aly Raisman Be Competing In?

This summer, Aly Raisman and her teammates have already managed to secure their place in Olympic history by taking home the Gold in the Women’s Gymnastics All-Around Team Finals. But just what lies ahead for Raisman in the solo competitions?

It’s been an interesting few years for Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman. After taking home three medals during the 2012 London Olympics (a gold in the team all-around and individual floor exercise finals and a bronze in the Individual Beam final), Raisman set her sights on the 2016 Rio Olympics. It was a long and winding road, but at the U.S. Olympic Trails, Raisman secured her place on a second U.S. Olympics Women’s Gymnastics team.

Raisman and her teammates, Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian, quickly made their presence felt. Team USA secured the top spot in the team all-around finals while also locking in appearances in several of the Games’ various individual competitions.

After taking home the gold in the team all-around final on Tuesday afternoon, Raisman’s next goal is to take home a few additional medals before her time in Rio comes to a close!

Over the next week, Raisman will compete in the Women’s Individual All-Around Final and the Women’s Floor Exercise Final where she will compete against Biles and several other individuals in hopes of taking home a few additional pieces of Olympic hardware!

Which brings up the next question, likely weighing on your mind: When will each of those events take place and how can I watch them?
