Caitlin Todd – NCIS

Last Words: “Wow. I thought I’d die before I ever heard a compl—.”

How She Died: She was shot in the head by a sniper.

Why Her Last Words Were So Great: There were moments when it seemed as though Kate would get killed earlier, but she was just about to make it through the episode unscathed. She stood on a rooftop with Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo, smiling with her favorite people in the middle of a joke when she was shot.

DiNozzo had complimented her saying she did good after she took a bullet to her bulletproof vest to save Gibbs’ life. Gibbs smiled and said, “For once, DiNozzo is right.”

Then the shot rang out. The bullet struck Kate in the forehead.

Kate and Tony had a brother-sister type of relationship, poking fun at each other, but always had each other’s back. Up until the very end, that relationship did not change. It’s too bad she got the compliment the moment before she was killed.

Kate’s death is often referred to as one of the toughest in recent television history. It was surprising based on the timing and execution. Many fans did not realize this was the end for Kate.
